Bio - David Kaptein
David started taking pictures of models and actors while working himself as a model throughout Paris, Milan, Hamburg, Zurich, Stockholm, Miami, and New York. For the past 29 years he has been based in the New York market, shooting actors and models who are represented by the top acting managers and modeling agencies in NY. His work has appeared in magazines such as Swedish Elle & Cosmo, Best Body, Radio Ink, and People.
Having worked as a model and commercial actor with some of the best photographers and commercial directors in the world, David understands the creative process from both sides of the camera. He especially loves to work with kids and young adults just starting out in the business. David has a daughter (26) and son (23) who have both modeled and acted for years, which gives him a special parental perspective to the process as well.
David has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and really enjoys blending the technical and creative aspects of photography to his work.
